Hello Friends,

Eminence is in Missouri's Shannon County or sometimes called Booger County by the Old Timers.

The house is over 100 years old. It was built around the 1860's and housed a pharmacy, beauty shops, a grocery store, children's clothing shop, sporting goods and gift shop in the downstairs room. Upstairs, above this room, was the old telephone office, which is now a bedroom. Exactly when it was opened and when it closed, is unclear. But, we know it was there, because at the top of the narrow stairs is a glass door with a handpainted sign that still reads Telephone Office.

Each room is filled with antiques and beautiful framed prints are everywhere (some prints are for sale). The kitchen has an old harvest cooktable which serves as the eating table, and cobalt blue glassware in the windows.

There are outdoor porches on both sides of the house and the garden has a Maple and large Magnolia Trees. Irises, Roses, Lilacs and Peonies complete the picture perfect garden.

Two of the rooms are named after Wanda's children, David and Pattricia. One after her sister. The room names are:

• David
• Telephone Office
• Pattricia
• Regina (never vacant)

During your stay you may want to visit the Craft Shops and the Antique Shops along Main Street, take a walk to Jack's Fork River for a cool dip or just relax on one of the porches with a cup of coffee or tea, or maybe something cool, and some of Wanda's baked goodies, and just watch the Main Street traffic go by.
